Superb 2016 Clos from Droin that seems to he coming together now after my first bottles that were not up to the standard of that good domaine. Lemon curd, sea salt, some white orchard fruit, great minerality and salinity coupled with depth, richness, and this nice tension, making it balanced, vibrant with a savoury lengthy finish. 92-93

The nose is ocean air, fleur du sel, and granite dust. On first pour, starts out with some savory roasted parsnip and turnip. Builds weight with air time; lemon curd, citrus zest, and Costa Rican “Cas” fruit (which is a hybrid green guava, pear, and citrus). Finishes with more cracked granite. Love it! — 7 years ago
