Les Cravers de Marceaux Saint-Chinian Red Blend 2013

Ughhhhh just so much farm and stink in the nose for a delightful payoff. It’s like drinking the fresh outdoors. Light, silky, acidic, fresh and bright berries off the vine while still shrugging its shoulders and saying, “sometimes you have to enjoy the manure too.” I want more. — 4 years ago

La Grand Mayol White Blend

Very nice, floral and peachy with a kiss of vanilla on the finish. Enough acidity to render it refreshing on a hot cévenol evening. — 4 years ago

Sur la Plage Colombard

Very slight bouquet. A whisper of lemongrass and acacia palm.

Chill to the max for me. Love the pandan leaf subtle note with an undercurrent of pineapple. The fruit flavors are muted and work with the acidity, highlighting and letting the minerality shine.

Stellar.

Young winemakers making serious noise in the area. I’m following. There’s some funk that blows off quickly and underneath is a chunky, complex and chiseled expression. The terroir really comes through on the edges, slate and mineral. Crushed red fruit and herbs on the mid palate. Could use some time. Very interesting and provocative. Falls somewhere in between old school rusticity and the energy you find in good examples of new school minimalist winemaking. — 4 years ago
