K' Sa Tête Vin de France Pineau d'Aunis 2018

LOVE. Loire might be my favourite French region.

Some green pepper on the nose. Dangerously drinkable. Food friendly. Went well with spiced ground beef and rice, but this red would be a good companion for red or white meat, Indian dishes, or on its own.

Abadía da Cova Barrica Ribeira Sacra Mencía

Wonderful wine. Spicy - with plummy dark fruits, herbs, and and intense minerality. Wonderfully aromatic and great extraction while retaining acidity and a medium body. — 4 years ago

Nice rose from SA, purchased at hop and grape. Crisp acidity with well balanced sweetness, this is a delightful summer sipper — 3 years ago

The Islander Estate Vineyards

The Investigator Kangaroo Island Cabernet Franc 2008

See previous notes for this cuvée and vintage 76 weeks ago An unlikely venture on Kangaroo Island SA owned by Jacques Lurton of Cheval Blanc fame. The Lurton family own vineyards around the world. This is 100% Cabernet Franc. Herbal tea leaf like notes which belie the sweetish medium weight palate. Red Currant with mild resolved tannins. Overall very pleasing and ready to drink. — 3 years ago

They do a stunning wine from Rueda called Belondrade y Lurton, quality house. They may also do Cheval des Andes in Argentina which is also outstanding
