— 9 months ago
Like a Burgh - no difference. Franken Pinot (FP). Schlepped this all the way from this super remote winery my 2nd bottle. Stumbled onto this wine because Jancis Robinson recommended this (after all she used to be the Sommelier of the Queen of England). Suitcase import. 13.5% world class - really. Roses on the nose. In the glass faint cherries, blackberries, elderberry (just bought a plant we used to make jam), red currants. Back palate hard to define Za'atar (the plant) - Screw Cap (a strange choice for such quality juice). I know this wine is inaccessible for most folks on this website - sorry. But Franken is a very interesting wine region. The soil is by the way limestone - so it is classic for Pinot. I walked the vineyards - very off the beaten path - even for Germany. — 10 hours ago

Enticing aromas of ripe apricot, peach, and honey, alongside a delicate minerality. The palate is rich yet refreshing, with vibrant acidity lifting the ripe fruit flavors of green apple and citrus. The wine shows great balance, with a touch of sweetness that’s perfectly matched by the zesty, clean finish. — 9 months ago
Nice fruity (green apples) in this vintage.
Herby fresh & mineral.
Linear, steely, firm on the palate - with a splash of green apple juice and herby characters. Plus the rocky minerality and a saline finish. So food friendly. — 4 years ago

Medium light garnet , wide garnet rim . Quite open from the off , red cherry , rose , red currant , raspberry , a touch of smoky oak, after a while a little deeper fruit . On the palate this has quite sweet strawberry , raspberry , red currant but with good acidity , rounded on the palate but with quite gritty tannins , with saline hints on the spiced cherry tinged finish . This is still pretty young and needs a little more time , maybe 2-4 more years , and will last a further 5-8. — a month ago
