Another great cider from fable. Enjoyed with Tyger Tyger transcendent Sichuan food. — 8 days ago
Cork: funky, maybe blackberry?
Wine: very fruity, strawberry, with a hint of citrus on the back of tongue, smells like berries with some damp moss. But a very light wine, almost feels bubbly. Color reminds me of the ugly maroon carpet of my parents bedroom — 2 hours ago
Smooth, with the typical peppery bite of the variety. Deep dark red color, and quite dry. Full body and long flavor ... outstanding. From the introductory First Leaf case. 22 January 2021 — 6 hours ago
Amazing. Not dense or sickly sweet. Just right. — 9 days ago
My first time trying a wine from Bedrock, a Sonoma producer who have a reputation for creating exceptional wines from old-vine Zinfandel.
This entry level bottling is very good - and very young. Brambly, with blackberry, black cherry, smokey barbecued meat, tobacco, black pepper & chocolate. Very full bodied, spicy, certainly not jammy but quite serious in its fruit profile - I actually found this quite Cabernet-like - with angular tannins and dried cherry acidity.
Nice to have a Zinfandel for the first time in what must be over a year! — 7 days ago
Only 175 cases made, this is a small outfit that works w/old vines primarily Zin & Petite Sirah. This was a 15.5% monster w/extraordinary concentration & stuffing. Tightly wound and reductive, this reminded me of some Clarendon Hills wines. Finally yielded a fairly impressive Zin profile, but that ALC was out of whack.
