95% Syrah, 5% Viognier. Beautiful Rhône red. Quite intense with darker fruits and blueberries. Some meaty/iron notes, black pepper and green olive. Floral dried lavender from the Viognier. Like revenge, this is best serve chilled (even though it is a red). A fascinating combination of CF, Grolleau Noir, CS, Pinot d’Aunis and Gamay. Hand-harvested 75% from the estate, rest from neighbors. This wine has great texture and structure. 12% abv. From the family Ogreau, who apparently, are also musicians. $27 — 2 years ago

A wild ride from the underappreciated west coast of the western cape. Chenin grapes foot stomped and fermented 50/50 in stainless and 4th-fill oak barrels, then combined and aged nine months in those barrels. It goes places — 2 years ago
