Dismissed by many as too jammy or too ripe, I’ve always thought this is the fun bottling. This ‘21 is no exception. Beneath the slightly over extracted ripe dark fruits lies quite complex aromas and flavors of figs, sweet spices, dark chocolate, smoke meat, and hint of balsamic. Rich palate but not overbearing. In a good vintage like ‘21, this can benefit for 5-8 years of bottle age.
My guilty pleasure. — a month ago
Good right out the bottle and stayed that way for a couple of days. What a nice grape! Very underrated. Medium body with a bit of spice. Sweet with a balanced tannin. Day 2 showed more acidity which improved it further. Excellent vino. — 2 months ago
Clearly a Sauvignon Blanc, which isn’t always a positive note for me, but the 12’ Pur Sang radiated such energy and clarity that made it impossible to not fall in love with. Aromas of pineapple, lemon, gooseberry, and fragrant white florals intertwined with subtle vanilla. On the palate, a delicate fruit sweetness was perfectly counterbalanced by herbal nuances and piercing, superb acidity, along with a crystalline texture and mineral backbone. Wicked wine as it is now, but it could easily spend more time on its side. — 23 days ago
Rich jammy flavor. Good finish. I really enjoyed this wine. Very good value for the price. — 23 days ago
Excellent wine for the price. Almost has a sutle Merlot taste but without the oaky finish. — a month ago
