Decent Priorato - really looking for more of that schisty slate minerality, but it delivers on drinkability. Red & black fruited nose, some smoke & peppery, a bit feisty - palate is smooth & sumptuous, medium + body, smooth tannins w/decent structure. whoa - this was a hedonistic wine, inky w/pungent aromas of blackberry, black cherry, plums, licorice, cassis, vanilla, cocoa and minerality running through it all - liquified compote like fruit - on the palate you get some phenolic heat but just gobs of velvety black fruit, spice and minerals, big plush, integrated tannins and just enough acidity to keep everything moving to a long lingering caressing finish. known this producer for a long time, a Priorato stalwart - their entry level wine, doesn't have the typical terroir of the region but still impressive — a year ago

Purchased at winery: legit Priorato here with that schisty style, took forever to open, disintegrated cork, and I almost lost hope - eventually yielded stunning eclectic & complex nose of dusty minerals, cherry & blackberry compote, medicinal, spice, a hi-toned note, really evolving. Smooth rich luxurious on palate, great density & mouthfeel, tons of minerals & red & black fruit w/just enough acidity to balance it all out. Persistent finish. This isn’t their hi end bottling, and it isn’t Clos Mogador or anything like that, but this is absolutely Priorato with some more life ahead. — 5 years ago

wow this had some serious funk upon opening, thought it might be a bit of Brett, but it turned to barnyard and then to just earthiness - deep ruby, semi-opaque, showed plenty of terroir, mineral "schistiness" along with delicate ripe red fruit, smoke, pepper, savory herbs and some florals. med bodied on palate, nice acidity & polish - very engaging and approachable style. dried herbs, red & black fruit, white pepper and plenty of minerality. cerebral entry level Priorato that is a pretty good bargain — a year ago

Grown organically in slate rich, Licorella soil.
A blend of Carignan/Mazuelo , Garnacha, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Black fruit, liquorice and minerals on the nose.
This is Priorato so it’s all about graphite, minerals, dark raspberries and plums.
This wine has aged beautifully. Tannins have precipitated and softened with a good amount of sediment.
