Trajectory Paso Robles Red Rhone Blend 2015

A bit of a wild card pull out of my dad’s cellar that’s surprise delicious!! Paso CDP blend (43% G, 38%S, 18%M). Nice complex, supple, more brooding but tangy dark fruit. Black cherry, wild strawberry, red plum,. Cigar Ashe, Carolina BBQ. Some Grenache-y fruit gumminess. Tannins relaxed but structural. Terrific juicy acid. Two awesome notes my mother (who refuses to *taste* red wine) from the nose: plywood dust, watermelon rind. — 4 years ago

The Palace Sauvignon Blanc 2010

First time ever trying this. Soft and floral. The acidity was not as bright as the Entre Nous. — 6 years ago

Spoto Wines

Family Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

@Delectable Wine this is the 2016 Family Reserve but not Ashe.

The 2016 Spoto Family Reserve is packed with power and youthful exuberance. I was honored to be able to give this one a drive today. This wine was popped and sampled, slow-oxed for 6 hours, and then decanted for another 2 hours. This definitely woke up this monster and got it going. This is a red-fruit dominant, full-bodied behemoth that will stay for 20 years in your cellar. Lighter violet pour with a clear meniscus. The nose of this wine is amazing, and the poured sample really wasn't tasted for 2-3 hours because I kept coming back to the nose on this wine. Smells like a pastry shop around the holidays and has a touch of a wildflower garden if you huff this one long enough. Tne entry of this wine is dominanted by black cherry, red currants, red licorice, bing cherries, red-hot spices, cinnamon, hint of fig. Very bright acidity and loaded with tons of power throughout. Finishes with young oak, stiff but punchy tannic character, tapping you on the shoulder and saying "Yeah, I'm this good now, but you should come back to the others you bought in a few years." This wine is dressed to impress. Rating: 98+

Radici Taurasi Aglianico 2013

Excellent! Smokey dark fruit aromas. More of the same on the palate plus volcanic ashe, and earthy notes. Love these rustic old world wines! — 4 years ago

This just smells like volcanic ashe and blueberries. BlackBerry, blueberry, and volcanic rocks. This is balanced well by nice acidity and minerality.
This is the best recent vintage of this wine. Very enjoyable and good value at sub $30.
