New producer to me
Apparently he has been a benchmark for pignolo and schioppettino for a long time
Wine style is big
Wines get released after many years depending when he thinks they are ready
The schioppettino gave me the best impression
Fruit, spices(coriander seeds and white pepper) and a bit of incense
You keep swirling you will get more and more

2013. Very good. Smooth full bodied. — 5 years ago
This is the Pignolo grape from Friuli. This is truly an incredible wine from a well-run vineyard. Let breathe and enjoy a super drinkable and refreshing wine that still can hang with red meats and charcuterie. — 6 years ago
Pours maroon, feels purple velvet.
Unashamed acetone, like the best nail polish and wild jungle juice. Dark plums and raspberries with a sweet midnight pruney core.
Sweet and tart and pulpy and a good ride if you raised your hand and signed the waiver. — 2 years ago

RS18 is a sublime texture of crimson velvet sweatpants and also a rich concentrated core of saturated sweet stewed fruits. A total standout. Some won't tolerate. This is unapologetically raw and oozing with VA. But like it or not, this is an experience and I like experiences.
Deep aromas of spiced cranberry and apple cider turn to flavors of syrupy dates and grape jelly. Plays tricks on the mind. Is this really sweet? Or just perception? — 4 years ago
Balsamic tar and flower petals. Extremely tannic upon opening but evolved beautifully — 5 years ago
From the east hill, pignolo, 2008. A rare grape a lovely deep coloured, aromatic wine with abit of raisin sweet, a bit of souple leather and a slight alcoholic kick that resembles grappa. — 6 years ago
Smooth, will-balanced, easy to drink, nice acidity, Merlot-Pignolo blend. — 7 years ago

My first experience with a Friulian Pignolo...Wow..what a simply perfect pasta/pizza wine. Nice bright berry red color... medium weight on the palate...smoke, BlackBerry fruit, sweet red fruit and brilliant lively acidity...perfect foil to red tomato sauce and sausage pizza. Only problem being that the balance, refreshment quotient, and cravability mean a single 750 is not enough. Lost the battle w/wife for last swallow! What a great bargain for Saturday night red sauce! — 6 years ago
