Found this on special at Costco for $10. Thought I’d try it. I was quite impressed. This was a very well balanced complex sparkling rose. I expected it to be on the sweet side, but, fir a Prosecco, it was not overly so. The fruit though was restrained and the acid structure just delightful. I’ve had it with lamb chops and it was a beautiful complement! With a rigatoni sausage tomato dish it to want just delightful. I hope there’s more when I go back. I’ll be stocking up a few cases in anticipation of summer! — 8 days ago
Deeply alluring with dusty purple-tinged florals, sweet spices and black currants. The 2017 Ripasso is silky with cool-toned textures, further accentuated by vibrant acidity. There’s beautiful symmetry and persistence here, coming across as powerful yet remaining energetic throughout. $22.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, January 2021) — 2 days ago
If I look tired, well who isn’t tired this year has been a million years long which is probably why I’ve wanted lively wines, but ones with intellect. Like the people that know how to have funny energy discussing serious things...is this the John Oliver of wine? It banters of both salted dried peach and bushes encountered on a Midwest hike and lemon conserve. It’s fresh but deep. Like the discourse I’d like to have with like minds. — 9 days ago
Nice Italian wine. Red fruits (strawberries, sour cherries), vanilla / chocolate aging notes. Floral aromas even subtle but which should develop with a few years in the cellar. The acidity is still lively and the tannins just rounded. Should be better in two years.
Jolie vin italien. — 4 days ago
Lovely, especially for the price. Round and mouth-coating, with a lovely mix of sweet and savory notes. Musky on the nose. Exotic melon and apple on the attack, green almond and hay kick in in the back end. Waxy texture, crunchy finish. Great with charcuterie. — 4 days ago
Medium ruby color. Medium+ intensity aromas and flavors of ripe dried red fruit (red cherry, red plum and dried cranberry) some black fruit (dark cherries) there are some herbal earth aromas and flavors of sagebrush and dust, dirt as well as a roasted pepper (reminds me of Carmènere) On the palate it is dry, medium acidity high alcohol and a medium+ velvet smooth tannin. Medium(+) body and medium+ finish. #valpolicella #amaronelover #amarone — 12 days ago
