I have several previous Delectable notes on this brilliant wine. As fellow Delectable taster Scott Rowe said of this wine “Epic”. Sadly my last of the 2015 vintage Tolpuddle Pinot Noir. There were too many things going for it not to be a success. :-
Coal River Tasmania; Shaw and Smith Winemaking team; 2015 vintage. There were spicy red cherries on the nose. A stalky whole bunch note. (50% whole bunch fermentation). See previous notes. Every year since has been a similar success. — 6 months ago

Dry, minerals, citrus, nectarine, not sweet at all. — 3 months ago
Starts great from the first pour. Nose sings of petrol and the palate answers with acidified caramelized pineapple. Pear, flowers, honey and more dance across the tounge. — 4 months ago
Proving yet again that the Adelaide Hills makes excellent Chardonnay. Has been “worked “ somewhat. The winemaking team has a formidable brains trust with Adam Wadewitz as the Chief Winemaker with input from two MWs in Michael Hill-Smith and David leMire. An excellent modern take on Australian Chardonnay. Stone fruit, minerality, struck match - a nice citric acid cut to finish off. — 6 months ago

Probably the last vintage by one of the region's most celebrated producers.now in private equity hands sadly a fate befalling many family owned wineries.
A wine of flavour concentration and finesse, dark crimson with inviting aromas of black cherry, red fruit and some cedar. Delicious with well-integrated tannins, nice mouthfeel and long finish. — 14 days ago
