Very nice. Easy drinking. — 3 months ago
Enjoyed this one with a classic French meal of steak and béarnaise with roasted carrots and dauphinois potatoes. Hints of oak and cherry and red currants. Lots of merlot keeps it soft and supple. One guys comment was “tart cherries peel through the windows in the rain-slicked cobblestone alley.” Quite poetic and really accurate. There is a wet stone quality to this wine that appeals to me. Enjoyed and would drink again. — 4 months ago
Elegant and slightly floral, but not too long, and great minerality. — 19 days ago
Nose: some funk. Blows off. White flowers.
Palate: sweet fruit. Mineral. Good. Well made. Not too wooly.

Smoky Syrah with a young backbone and side of the mouth pepperiness. — a month ago
Opened 10 days ago. Just a bit too oxidized but after a few days in Cali bothers it settled down and be a serviceable food wine, good acidity, not much complexity, oxidation blew off. — 3 months ago

Oak treatment deceives on the nose. Palate displays beautiful weight and texture without gratuitous barrel influence. Butteaux is known for exuding richness, especially in warmer vintages and Piuze delivers without sacrificing acidic tension, fruit purity, and
minerality. Beautiful wine. Decant if drinking now. — 19 days ago
