Throwback for me. As Zin was my go to grape in the 90s, the single vineyard Ravenswood wines were my favorites! I visited in 1999/2000ish and drank from the barrels.
900 cases made, this has a bold blueberry and black pepper nose, mint adds on the palate, a bit more mellow than I remember it, which is great for my older taste. Medium plus body, medium tannins.

A new producer for us, purchased direct from the winery.
Nose displays pears, white flowers, and the slightest hint of volatility. The palate is muscular and demonstrates urgency when it hits the mid-palate. Powerful, zippy acidity gives way to honeycomb notes, without the sweetness. The finish is mineral-driven, with very little detectable oak treatment. Wine #4 of the night. The winner of the night! Fresh, young and juicy. The 15.7 alcohol was completely hidden behind plump, juicy fruits, soft oak and spice and superbly supple tannins. These wines age beautifully but the purity of a younger vintage is truly awesome. — 8 days ago

I found two bottles of this vintage tucked away in the cellar. I opened one shortly after that and was very pleased with my discovery. Richer than most wines from this producer but not flabby by any means. Notes of citrus, a touch of honey and a very pleasant depth and richness. So glad I have one more bottle to enjoy! — 4 days ago
New addition to the cabinet, first Dalmore. On the nose very bizarre, albeit tantalizing notes of clove, star anise, and candied orange peel. On the palate very smooth yet expressive notes of roasted coffee and espresso-dark chocolate nibs. Lovely scotch. — 3 days ago
