The purest a Vidal can get. Primary aromas of apricot, but the age allowed for some nice caramel complexities to show up. Rich on the palate with strong honey tones and a touch of citrus hiding in the back. Really lingers too, and paired well with a salted caramel cheesecake. — 11 days ago
Really nice Cab Franc from a great region. — a month ago
new zealand riesling from central otago. this is such a fun bottle.
super cloudy in the glass, dark and musty for a white wine. the bouquet is extraordinary. petrol, chamomile, melon, lemon rind. a really stunning nose that grows and grows on you
dry. the palate is a heavy dose of lemon rind with some mineral. very austere, but a magical long finish like a limoncello shot. one of the more memorable rieslings i’ve tried. — 6 days ago
Not totally sure how I feel about this wine. On the one hand it's lovely and pure and clean, with decisive, cleansing minerality that gives focus and drive to its bright, fresh flavors of tangerine, sesame, and sea salt. On the other it's just a little lacking--in structure, in acidity, and in intensity as well. I like it a lot, don't get me wrong. We tasted this wine from tank though and were totally blown away by its symmetry and completeness. Perhaps the filters simply claimed their share. — a month ago
Very mango, a little fizzy - would be nice at the lake on the pier at 4:30. Wine cooler / sangria combo. Maybe an Olive Garden summer special served with a strawberry in the bottom! — 2 days ago
Nose of honeysuckle and pears. Tart apple, pear and melon flavors with a hint of lime on the finish. A bit of RS. Lots of acidity, but not the big FLX minerality that is expected. No petrol aromas. Still well made and approachable. Great with spicy food. Solid and consistent producer. — 24 days ago
2017 Skin Ferment Gewürztraminer from small-batch Ontario winery Trail Estate.
Rich (but only 11.6%), aromatic, golden hue, not your average gewurtz!
Hand-harvested, wild-fermentation on skins for 16 days. — a month ago
Great wine!!!! — 2 months ago
2014 vintage - great value at $15. Took an hour or so to open up. Once it did, sweet strawberry on the nose. Coated my mouth. Chocolate and cherry dominate this wine, with some definite earthy notes to counteract the sweetness. Could have used a bit more in the finish, but definitely drank above its price. — a month ago
