Vatan Arena

Tinta de Toro 2014

The most delicious and refined super premium wine out Spain that you never heard of. A selection of the fruit from a small old vineyard plot planted over 100 years ago. Only the best will go i to Vatan Arena, and a special Wine this is. Think Bordeaux meets with early 80’s Napa and had a lovechild! If you get a chance to by some, drink some do it! I can only imagine how this beauty would age! — 3 days ago

Bodegas y Viñedos Vega Sicilia

Pintia Muestra Toro Tempranillo 2004

Really excellent. A depth and purity of fruit that reminds me of old Bordeaux but with a racy earthy quality. Tons of sediment, decant carefully. Excellent acid, beautiful deep black fruit, just very nice. Certainly can tell this saw a lot of oak but at this stage it’s all integrated. — 7 days ago

Don Melchor Puente Alto Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Great Cab! Took longer than an hour on the decanter to fully open. Strong green pepper on the nose, lactic notes and mature fruit. On the mouth was excepcionally silky with a very long finish. I believe this wine still needs some years to reach its full potential. Looking forward to drinking another bottle in a couple of years. — a month ago

"El Recio" Tinto de Toro 2015

This beautiful Toro wine is dark, deep and delicious. The Tinto de Toro grapes - Tempranillo elsewhere - make a wine of such a deep indigo that no light comes through it. Aromas abound, like blackberry, cassis, anise and vanilla. The flavors run along those same lines, with big, jammy fruit and a tarry understroke. Acidity is spot-on and the tannins are plenty firm without being a distraction. — 24 days ago
