Pintia Muestra Toro Tempranillo 2009

Pretty tasty stuff. Opened up to a weedy character. Not a pop and pour kind of wine. Took about 20 minutes to just SETTLE DOWN. Black fruit nose...plums and dates. Bit tart on the entry but that settled down after 20 minutes. Entry is mulberry, plums, sweeter character shows in the middle where this one gains substantial body. Finishes with a hint of dried tobacco on a darker foundation. This wine is in a good spot right now and not entirely sure that this one will really improve all that much with added bottle aging. — 20 days ago

Numanthia Toro Tempranillo 2014

The 2014 'Numanthia' Toro is a stunning wine that is already offing wonderful appeal. While it needs a bit of air contact, the wine shows gorgoeus aromas of ripe dark fruits on the nose, particularly dark cherry and roasted dates most dominant. The silky mouthfeel glides through the mid-palate as this shows a distinct dusty character, and notable decadence, with black forest Cake, wild mushrooms, espresso bean and toffee flavors that ad excellent range. Downright delicious now, this great Toro also has the stuffing to cellar well for the next fifteen plus years. Drink 2019-2033- 93 — a month ago

Pintia Toro Tempranillo 2011

Toasty, lush, virile and opulent. Manages to retain some acidity despite the hot vintage, but overall I found this far too young to enjoy thoroughly. The oak is rather dominant. — 25 days ago

Viña San Román Toro Tempranillo 2015

The 2015 San Roman is gorgeous right now. Following extended air contact, the wine begins to opens with a ripe dark fruit bouquet with toasty oak, white rose and milk chocolate shavings which all build in th glass. On the palte this displays a wonderful combination of tension and viscosity. Blueberry Coulis, blackberry pie, coffee grounds and dark chocolate flavors all come to mind. Complex and seductive, this will have an exceedingly long life in the cellar. Drink 2019-2030- 93 — a month ago

2015. Tinta De Toro (Tempranillo) 100%, so not really a red blend as the Delectable entry lists. Organic, no added sulfite. 14% abv. Complex. Thanks, Paul. — a day ago

Selección Especial Toro Tempranillo 2012

Concentrated and with lots of tannins. The wine has an odd but pleasant dark aroma. Oak noticeable in the finish. Held up really well when paired with brisket and parsnip puree. — 9 days ago
