Morey St. Denis Chambolle Musigny, Côte De Nuits

Domaine Bertheau (Pierre et François)

Bonnes Mares Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2017

Medium weight, cassis, raspberries. The wine is still closed and needs a good 30 minutes to open in the glass. Next to les amoureuses this is true grand cru. Needs a good 8 to 10 years but like so many 2017s is approachable. — 9 days ago

Vieilles Vignes Morey-Saint-Denis Pinot Noir 2015

This was rich, deep with complex layers of fruit and spice that soars out of the glass. A “Wow Wine” & one of the best $50 range Burgundies that I have ever experienced. A producer I buy at all Cru levels that shows purity of fruit & transparency. — 3 days ago

Domaine Stephane Magnien

Morey-Saint-Denis Pinot Noir 2015

This started shy both on nose and palate. But with air, the wine bulked out hugely. The nose is full of red and black cherry, with plenty of burgundian sauvage. The palate starts with nothing but then builds and explodes with black fruit, sour cherry, and wood spice. Quite long. — 13 days ago

Domaine Ponsot

Cuvée Vieilles Vignes Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2000

The wine is still very clean, color is ruby with no rim discoloration. The nose is on red fruit, cola and wet forest musk...in the mouth the taste is very balanced, alcohol is medium, nice acidity and the attack is on small red fruits. The middle of the mouth brings nice acidity and the finally is beginning to show secondary and tertiary tastes. Some mushroom, truffles and wild herbs. The length is very long. Not the best CdlR from Ponsot that i had but for a 2000 he hit it out of the park — 21 days ago

Domaine Faiveley (Joseph Faiveley)

Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir 1966

Tasted blind. Amber tawny color. Notes of dried cherries, cola, a moist field and some brown sugar. Thin in appearance and in taste. Very refined. Some are guessing old Cote-Rotie but I stick with a mid-60's Morey St.-Denis guess. — 6 days ago

Domaine Philippe Charlopin-Parizot

Morey St. Denis Pinot Noir 2016

I decided to revisit a bottle that was the winner of our horizontal tasting of MSD 2016 village (10 producers tasted blind by 10 participants). And once again this is a hit for a village. Lots of complexity, licorice, spices and red fruits... more than satisfactory length for this level of appellation. — a month ago
