Comparing a couple 2011 Loire Cab Francs this weekend. This offering, brought home from Paris in December, is incredibly lively and bright for a 9 year old wine. Bright and juicy with tons of varietal fruit character. Great acid. Sub €30 I think and is something I wish I had a case of. Perfect every day drinker (amazing to say that about a 2011) - not incredibly complex but incredibly delicious. Enjoyed standing around the kitchen waiting for homemade pizza to come out of the oven (margarita and sausage/mushroom pies). — 5 years ago
Spent some time talking with winemaker Mikael Sigouin and got an awesome crash course in Grenache. Thanks for an awesome experience! — 8 years ago
Beautiful inky dark Syrah. Ready to go after a couple hour decant. And a nice pairing with roast chicken thighs with lemon and green olives. Quite seamless on the palate with a bit of structure. Maybe one smidge less acid than I hoped for at the end to make it sing - but still very nice. — 3 years ago
SGM, thanks Mikael! — 8 years ago
Wow. Quite intense. Peppery, forest fruit spicy. Violet, fennel and black currant. Very sweet but also herbal, garrigue, and with pleasant bitterness; spicy, with a long finish. Really good stuff. Super concentrated. — 3 years ago

Loire gamay - Ruby/violin color, unfiltered. Oaky dominant, notes of farms, associated with varietal notes of cherries, pomegranate slightly set back. Wait another two years for the whole to melt.
