A welcoming nose of ripe black fruits such as cassis and plum, dark chocolate, black tea leafs, and bell pepper. The palate is warm and deep, and velvety, with a taste echoing the nose. Polished tannins and long sweet finish. The bell pepper note might be a turn off for some, but I like it a lot here.
From vines dating back to 1945 that are genetically different (hence massal selection, as opposed to a single clone). Casa Lapostolle used to buy the grapes for the Clos Apalta bottling. — 7 years ago

Tried twice! Blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah and 10% Carmenère, deep Ruby with purple hues, aromas of black fruits and spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, black currant and black pepper spice with some cacao notes. Rustic big tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit and powerful spice. Drink now and over next 3-5 years for max benefit. — 2 years ago
