Popped and poured; no formal notes. 100% Mandilari from the Plakoura vineyard on Crete. It has seen a mix of new and used oak; French and American. This was really lovely after about 30min of air. Though darker complected, this is mid-weight red with lovely freshness. Bright plums and bramble fruits with some dry stony earth, dried herbs and a strong spine of minerals. Tannins are medium; acid is medium+. Long finish. This rocked with my traditional meal of goat prepared in “staka” (which made it unbelievably tender) with potatoes. — a year ago
