@Hugh O'Riordan this was a wedding gift from a great friend. He was one upping my Macallan 25 for his wedding. My understanding is that this bottle used to be a part of a travel series, meaning it was available exclusively at duty free shops and the like. I think that’s where he got it. Since, Macallan has changed the bottle and made more widely available. A quick google search looks like you can get at high end shops.

A little spicey, not as smooth because of the cognac barrels. Slight fruit, a little bitter on aftertaste. No peat. $85 at target (a bit pricey) might get it if it were in the $50s. — 3 years ago

Really nice bottle that I find to be a bit more tame and integrated when compared to The Dalmore 12, which is also aged in Oloroso casks (both American and European oak). This selection has sweet caramel & fig, winter spices, toffee, and some nuanced citrus and fresh wood. — 5 years ago
