National rum day.....waaahhhh, wine break.
Time for a Mai Tai...the original Trader Vic 1944 recipe...not those bastardized fruit juice/grenadine versions!
2 ounces good blended aged rums..I use 1 oz el Dorado 15 yrs and 1 oz 12 year Appelton estate
3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
1/4 ounce simple syrup
1/3 ounce orgeat syrup
1/2 ounce orange curacao
Combine all ingredients with 12 oz CRUSHED ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake and pour..garnish with a mint sprig AND ENJOY!!!! — 5 years ago
This off-dry white wine pours up a bit fizzy, but the bubbles dissipate quickly. The nose is highly aromatic, like white flowers and a hint of earth and tangerine. On the palate, the slightly sweet flavor is the highlight. Unfortunately there isn't much acidity, so just enjoy as an afternoon sipper or in a cocktail. — 5 years ago
Very enjoyable for a summer’s day. Nice fruity flavor and very sweet. Good for dessert or just enjoying a sunny afternoon on the porch. — 4 years ago
This German Pinot Blanc - Weissburgunder - shows yellow-gold in the glass. The nose is laden with minerals, like a driveway freshly rained upon. There are pears and peaches, but they fight to get through the wet rocks. The palate also puts minerality first, with pear juice coming through. The acidity is not very strong, but is zippy enough to carry a salad or shrimp cocktail. — 5 years ago
Huge. Cocktail big. Giant. Tons of oak on the nose, dark cherries, currant. Napa silky. Drink now. Not my favorite style, but I appreciated the change as a finisher to the night. Don’t drink with food, likely to destroy both. :) — 4 years ago
fresh squeezed grapefruit on the nose and palate upon opening. tightly wound out of the bottle but opened up after an hour in a decanter. time reveals a kiss of cherry and an underlying salinity mixed with a trace of iron. light to medium body and color. not a cocktail wine, but EXCELLENT with food. paired perfectly with black pepper chicken. definitely a go to for weeknight meal pairings. — 4 years ago
From a favorite local vineyard. They never disappoint. This tastes like a margarita in wine form. Delish! — 5 years ago

Riesling on Thanksgiving is turning into a tradition!
Better than previous bottles. Nicely balanced between petrol, sweetness, and acidity. Wine could have used a little more zip, but high quality. Paired well with cheese and shrimp cocktail. — 5 months ago
