At Lolita w LJB. Lovely interesting wine. $11/glass. — 4 years ago
I think it because more balanced over time, so I'd recommend holding or decanting if drinking in the next year. — 2 years ago
Darker ruby with slight bricking around the edges. Slightly muted nose of cinnamon, licorice, and spice. There is some fruit left here but it’s starting to fade, leaving a good bit of heat from the alcohol and good structure. Full bodied and yes, it absolutely does drink like a Cab, with nice acid and good balance despite the bigness of this Merlot. Some of that beautiful Mount Veeder still shows on the smooth palate in blue and black berries, white pepper, and chocolate for days. Long delicious finish with more spice and a touch of oak. — 4 years ago
Spectacular fruit basket in the mouth with velvet finish — 4 years ago
Having this side by side with the 2007 Lolita Ranch Pinot. We have two dishes duck confit and baked salmon with polenta. Both wines obviously amazing with confit and surprising pair well with the salmon
Fresh cut ripe plum and dark cherry, cola, still super youthful on the nose.
The palate is dense but silky, vanilla, mixed berries, cedar and tobacco. Bright and vibrant. The heavy oak influence carries it through its age. Definitely needs a chill as the alcohol is a little hot.
Glad I'm having this wine with age — 2 years ago
