Time for my #FridayCabernetfix . Here's a nice one from Lodi, California.
Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, blueberries, cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, smoke, chocolates, mocha, earth, leather, peppercorn and graphite.
Full bodied, smooth and bold, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate and very fruity, with blackberries, sweet plums, cherry pie, dried figs, tobacco, spices, wood, vanilla, earth, chocolate cake, coffee, peppercorn and leather.
Medium plus on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This Lodi Cabernet is always enjoyable. Showing nice complexity and a great mouthfeel. As a 4 year old, it is much softer, with a tangy ending. Well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food. Might be too fruity for some.
Wine Enthusiasts 91 points.
Pairs well with a big piece of steak.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

Bright ruby colour, with wood odours. It develops as it sits in the mouth, a mix of berries and velvety vanilla. — 3 days ago
Had the 2012 Zin/merlot/Syrah/cab sav. It was really great paired with a Mediterranean steak salad. Really great representation of Lodi wine — 2 days ago
Still one of my fav OVZs. Love this wine and the winery. Want more of the 2010!!!! Jammy and perfect after aerating, with a little backend smoke. — 6 days ago
Very good. Aromas if Zin. Taste of food Zin. Must be a pretty good Zin. It was! 2nd day: chilled. I really like it cool right out of the fridge. It makes the wine tight a bit and the Zin sweetness is managed by it. Cool find! — a day ago
Really great red. Full flavoured without being heavy. Rich, red fruitiness to it - cherries, blackberries - with a vanilla undertone and a kick of peppery spiciness in the finish. Delicious. — 8 days ago
Delicious full body, rich flavor, chocolate scent , chewy, slight cherry flavor not sweet and great RPMs. — 7 hours ago
