Petite Petit Lodi Petite Sirah Petit Verdot 2016

This Petite Sirah from Lodi is always enjoyable. Big and bold, spicy and tangy.

Good by itself or with food. Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up and shows some tannins.

Showing black fruits, chocolates, coffee, wood, vanilla, licorice, mocha, caramel and peppercorn.

Full bodied with a nice finish. Might be a little sweet for some.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

VI Estate Lodi Zinfandel 2015

This wine is medium-dark in color, with light getting through the glass. The nose brings the predictable - white pepper, cherries - and the unexpected - bell pepper, anise. On the palate, red currant and cherries meet over oak spice and black pepper. The tannic structure is firm enough, but not so toothy that it gets in the way. The medium finish is laden with fruit. — 24 days ago

Bokisch Ranch Viognier 2013

An interesting Viognier probably a little past prime. A little dusky on the nose. Smelled like lemon air freshener in a YMCA locker room. This did improve as it warmed to room temp. Definitely full bodied with some crushed rock and pumice stone. Meyer lemon and orange blossom. Nice little wine, but guessing it had quite a bit more acid 3 years ago than it did today. — 2 days ago

I’ve had this producer’s Petite Sirah and actually really enjoyed it, so I was glad to try another one of their wines. I didn’t get to this until it had been open an hour and it smelled like pineapple and mango juice. Didn’t get any floral or mint notes I commonly get with Viognier. Light and clean on the palate with lots of lemon and pineapple.

Kirschenmann Chenin Blanc 2015

Understated and majestic. God, I love Chenin Blanc as a food wine. Crisp, clean notes of lemon curd and kaffir lime. Silky smooth, low ABV, and racy palette cleansing acidity make this wine a wonderful dining companion. Factor in the versatility and affordability and I can’t get enough. Kudos Tegan! — 9 days ago

Lodi Sauvignon Blanc 2017

This pale Lodi Sauvignon Blanc has a nose featuring earthy minerals and apricots. The palate shows citrus - mainly lemon and grapefruit - with a sweet edge. A great acidity goes along with the easy-sipping flavors. Pair this wine with with seafood, pork, chicken and bean dishes, or have it as an aperitif.

I was scared with the shape of the bottle thinking it might be too sweet, but that was not the case. It was crisp and refreshing! — 8 days ago
