Inkblot Cabernet Franc 2015

Here is a beautiful wine to celebrate Cabernet Franc Day.

Dark ruby in color with a cloudy reddish rim.

Fruity nose of dried figs, blackberries, cooked cherries, raisins, vanilla, oak, licorice, spices, coffee, cola, pencil lead, peppercorn, chocolates, tobacco and light alcohol.

Full bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and extremely fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, blackberries, cooked cherries, dried figs, tobacco, raisins, vanilla, oak, licorice, spices, chocolates, herbs and coke.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a great Cabernet Franc from Lodi, California. Fruit forward, extracted and tasty, with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel.

Good right out of the bottle and better after 2 hours of airtime, when the tannins show up.

Delicious, but might be too sweet for some. I'd like to revisit it in a year or two.

Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food. I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers.

15.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

Amorous Sangiovese 2018

First Chianti style spent money on. Pretty good definite tomato and acid. This one has tannins as I’ve come to expect from macchia.

Barbera 2018

Fairly dense red, moderately extracted pigment. Black cherry, black currant, mint and butter aromas. Fairly ripe flavors of cherry, blackberry, black currant in mouth, rounded mouthfeel, slightly tart blackberry and cranberry on finish with seed bitterness and mild skin astringency. Lactic aftertaste. After an hour, white pepper and then, 90 minutes later, cocoa emerges in the finish and aftertaste. After two hours, barrel smoke emerges. Great fruit, nothing too fancy on the winemaking end (perhaps deceptively so) but exactly what I’d want from a Lodi Italian varietal like Barbera, especially if you can decant an hour or two and wait for that white pepper and cocoa to emerge. — 8 days ago

Super yummy and easy drinking wine. Medium to full bodied and would go well with pizza or greaser foods. — 17 hours ago

OZV Lodi Old Vine Zinfandel 2013

This was a jammy and accessible Zinfandel. It had a nice boysenberry and grape flavor with hints of spice. For the price this was excellent. — 11 days ago

Freakshow Lodi Chardonnay 2018

Color of light gold. Nose is light with some flowering note, peach, citrus, and pineapple. Taste follows the nose with some sweetness from ripe banana and pineapple, and a bit tinkling refreshing flavors. Aftertaste is a bit short yet clean. Average. — 9 days ago

Plungerhead Old Vine Lodi Zinfandel

Smooth finish. No tennis ball muff or grassy nose. Just smooth Zin, like floating in a dream across the blue ridge mountains. Best shared with someone you’ve known for 27 years. — 7 days ago

Freakshow Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon

Little tart, good with provolone and salami, not so good with pizza. Aroma at the end was pleasant but not the best — 7 days ago

Would drink again.

Fruity, light body, pleasantly long finish.
