Leave it to the king of Gruners to have such an amazing wine as this. It paired beautifully with baby back ribs. — 5 years ago
Mmmmmmm, smooth decent wine from south Australia — 8 years ago
California butter, oak, buttered popcorn, citrus, and white florals on the nose. Palate also shows the same buttery oaky notes, but not as strong as some CA Chardonnay's. However, the mouthfeel does show it did spend some extra time on lees as it's creamy. Palate of; Lemon/lime, grapefruit, green apple, the oak on the palate shows a softer presence, secondary fruits are tropicals with dominate green melon, white flowers with good acidity and nice freshness. Spent 7 months in hogshead barrels (300 liters). Photos show the d'Arenberg cube that stands on the high hilltop. Opens later this year. I must say it really doesn't fit well into the McLaren Vale natural landscape in the other photo. Wonder how they got the plans approved with the MV Council?💰💰 — 9 years ago

On draft, Winking Lizard, Macedonia, OH. "Hearty" porter. Very tasty! High ABV but the alcohol flavor does not dominate like some at this level. — 10 years ago
Wonderful summer wine to combat the Charleston heat! Paired beautifully with Korean food we served tonight. On the sweeter side, with notes of peach. — 4 years ago
Full disclosure I am not a vodka drinker but on a cold snowy night in the Canadian Rockies what are a bunch of Canadians going to do but head to the Lizard Creek Lodge“Ice Bar” and enjoy vodka from Kazakhstan, Poland and Russia. I wish that I knew enough about vodka to rate this one from Kazakhstan so let’s just say it was fun. Cheers 🌬 — 8 years ago
Wow, having dinner at the Lizard Restaurant, Fernie Alpine Resort hosting a send off for friends moving to Edmonton. We never thought after a day on the slopes that you could find a wine like this at a local restaurant.
With a pale garnet color, and a soft aroma with slight hint of fresh roses this is a Barolo delight. Approachable, compelling wine presenting multiple smooth layers of fresh fruit flavors on the palette. With hints of blackberry, dried plums and cigar box this is a winner. I will track this one down on my next trip to Calgary. — 9 years ago

Giant blackberry/black cherry nose with peppercorn and soft smoke, cinnamon coated truffle, rosemary, asphalt-like pa-hoi-hoi. Black olive into blackberry with silky tannins and a ton of depth. Lick the rocks until you expose the silky blackberry magic. Washington leads the way again! Terroir and fruit in perfect interplay. Not for lizard people! — 11 years ago
Rare to find a Rioja wine mainly Garnacha dominated. From 105 yr old vines at 600 m altitude. The lizard on the label is a species which lives in the Rioja mountains. Only 1200 bottles made and great potential. — 6 years ago
Delectable friends: full confession I am not a vodka drinker but last night at the Ice Bar in the Lizard Lodge with friends we enjoyed this Swedish hand crafted vodka that blew us away. Smooth with a peppery mouth feel this vodka could make me a convert. Cheers to the Sweden 🇸🇪🥃 — 8 years ago
