The 2004 Vintage is a gorgeous Champagne that is just beginning to enter its first plateau of maturity. Dried flowers, brioche, mint, marzipan, tangerine peel and spice lend notable nuance throughout. A hint of reduction adds intrigue. As always, the 2004 is a linear, focused Champagne endowed with terrific energy. It is impeccably done. There's a bit more Chardonnay and Meunier than usual in this vintage, and that very much comes through in the wine's personality and overall feel. The blend is 37% Pinot Noir, 39% Chardonnay and 24% Meunier as opposed to the more classic 50%/35%/15% blend. Disgorged: Summer 2018. Krug ID: 318031. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, March 2024)

Some Brett, which is a little distracting for me, but doesn’t totally ruin it. Rich and savory, lots of herbal quality, bramble raspberries and dried cherries. A bit hot, which is surprising given the green notes in there. Going to let this open up for a day or two as it’s a bit linear right now, and check back in with it later. It’s a nice Syrah, but I was hoping for more. EDIT: Day two, after decanting and leaving in a partial bottle, this wine was totally singing. Opened right up, almost Barbaresco-like character. Totally shows off what Syrah can do. Rating upgraded. — 3 years ago
Very nice tonight with a pork schnitzel and excited to see how this develops. Opened 10 hours before dinner and decanted for 3 hours. I do think the air helped everything even out a bit. Nice restrained fruit, good linear core of minerality and acid, decently fresh with still some ever so slightly funky earth on the finish. — 7 months ago
This is actually the reserve which is aged in barrel longer. Stunning wine. Nose is super mineral and white cherries. Also iodine and white pepper. Some juicy peach and tangelo. Gorgeous. Palate is rich and energetic with outrageous complexity and elegance. Wow the sweet white cherries and apricots are decadent but this is linear and straight and so focused. Stunning. What a finish. These wines demand age. Will go to 9.7 and 9.8 with air. — 8 months ago
Where to begin? My first Selosse. The hype? At first, controlled. Wine was decanted before pouring and came in glass slightly less advanced than I would have thought. Nose not as approachable at first...but then, but then... wow! Opened up into the sublime! Incredible linear precision. Felt like every bubble was at the tip of your tongue. Clearly a superlative wine with near perfect amount of age advancement. — 4 years ago
