A friend brought this for me to try. I had their Leyenda bottling before, and loved it. This is equally impressive. Slightly ripe black fruits core with lots of earthy elements. Beautiful round acidity and very polished tannins.

This smells like a burning campfire, just outside of an oilfield. So good and heavy and Smokey.

Once you fight through the wow factor of the olfactory, touches of citrus and fresh pine gently roll, smoothly over the tongue. The finish of fresh bbq sauce and tender smoke.

This is perfect now. Still dense and mouth coating, plenty of tannins but still showing fruit. Some oak, but not too much, more on the nose than in the mouth. Hard to beat this for $25 as an everyday drinker. — 10 years ago
