Velvety without being dry. — 5 years ago
The 2016 Barbaresco is a stunning wine with tremendous richness for this bottling. Ample, deep and powerful, the 2016 exudes pedigree and class from start to finish. I can't remember a straight Barbaresco here with this much fruit density and unctuous richness, and yet there is more than enough tannin and overall structure to give the wine its classically leaning feel. A blast of sweet red cherry fruit, tobacco, menthol licorice and smoke hits the potent finish. What a wine! (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, November 2019) — 7 years ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2016 Reserva pours a deep ruby/purple with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart red and black fruits: black cherry, tobacco, cocoa, dill, vanilla and associated warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. This is a textbook, modern leaning and clean version of Rioja Reserva. Drink now through 2046. — a year ago
Softer Cabernet full of mellow dried herbs and cherry. Loving it with grilled pork tenderloin. — 5 years ago
I had the Vin Nature version of this wine, 2018 Twenty Mile Bench.
Quite frankly exceptional, no additives, natural ferment and neutral barrels, unfiltered and unfined. Just a perfect expression of this varietal. — 5 years ago
Very 2003. Plush, leaning a touch overripe for my palate, but still well-managed. On the nose: dense black fruit, with loads of plum. Lovely density, weight and acidity. Comes off more elegant on the palate. Softer tannin than expected on the finish, but maybe it was just covered up by ripe fruit. — 3 years ago
This is another blend. But this time it’s Cab, Syrah and Mourvèdre. — 5 years ago

1 hour decant(decent fine cloudy sediment). A striking still dark garnet with bricking. On the nose: Intoxicating notes of brambly blackberry, potting soil, mint, milk chocolate, herbaceous, peppered jerky. Taste: velvety, structured, leaning savory wine with dark plum/cherry, graphite, earth, leather, meaty, spice, and a long dark chocolate espresso finish. YUM!! — 8 months ago
