These Pierre Gimonnet champagnes are always of the highest quality from the Côte des Blancs and with terrific prices. An original member of the Club Trésors de Champagne, the Special Club, and an easy buy, each and every time.
The color of starlight on a cloudless night. A surplus of tiny bubbles and persistent perlage throughout. A very clean and focused nose showcasing lemon peel, pears, and sea salt. Vanilla custard and pronounced smoke. Hazelnuts and freshly baked dough with a nice dose of spice. Apples of the green and red varieties.
Some love has to be shown to the labels. Classy metal front label and an ultra informative back label. Pure Chardonnay from the Grand Crus of Cramant (59%) and Chouilly (25%) with the rest coming from the Premier Cru terroir of Cuis. The acidity here is outrageous and highly focused, really beautiful. Very pure and creamy. Disgorged in December of 2019 with an Extra Brut dosage of 4 g/l.
Everything carries over to the palate. A very complex and harmonious champagne. Fresh and bold with more apples and spice. Strong minerality and yeast here. Long, enduring finish. This definitely lives up to the standards of Gimonnet and the Special Club. Don’t sleep on these 14’s, they’re alive and kicking. — 3 years ago

100% Riesling, macerated with skins for 3 days, fermented with indigenous yeasts, aged with its lees for 9 months. Very lively, fresh, mineral — a year ago
L.440274 2020/12/24 with cheese and charcuterie. This is a masterpiece even for Pierre Peters, a master of blanc de blancs. On opening, that nose of caramel that you only get from patiently aged Champagne is remarkable. Just like many great aged wines, it does seem to pull a Benjamin Button with air - more fresh fruits emerge as that butterscotch recedes. Still, a wonderful blanc de blancs, perfect for Christmas Eve. — 4 years ago
Everything a red from the south of France should be: tight and plush, med+ body, red and black fruit, cassis, wet stones. Total throw back. Lovely. — 4 months ago

Always find this cuvée Just a joy of a BdB from Gimmonet and the 2014 is no different. Incredibly fragrant, supple and rich fruit backed by an immediately vibrant acidity and mineral core. Creamy, postured, fun. Satsuma, ripe pear, a kiss of something yellow and plummy, crushed chalk, jasmine, citrus peel. 58 Cramant/Chouilly 42 Cuis/Vertus; 5g/l dosage; 12/2020 disgorgement — 3 years ago

really really really special. about as profound as natural wine can get. needed an hour to really get going but entirely singular. had all of the chenin tells—orchard fruit, waxy texture, structured acidity—but so much more. very pronounced herbaceous notes and overall far more savory than i could have ever anticipated. there is no one doing it like robinot. — 2 months ago
