Connie’s gift to Cali for his new job. Creamy deliciousness. Was the 168eme. — 11 days ago
Krug is always most welcome, and Valentine’s Day is no exception. This is edition 169. A bit more yeasty and slightly less acidic than previous versions, to my taste. But if you like the Krug style - which we do very much - it hits the spot per usual.
My wife used to work with Fritz Hatton, proprietor of Arietta wines and auctioneer for Zachys. Fritz always says to have a half bottle of champagne waiting in the fridge in case you need a “midnight snack”, and I have to agree with him! — 12 days ago
So immediate. Starts with a blast of lime, seashells crushed to dust, creamsicle, flint/matchstick, citrus and pineapple. This gives way to buttercream, mint, honey, flowers and the purest confectionary notes. Then there’s a a hint of cantaloupe and guava, but the tropical aspects are still subtle. Such aromatic complexity backed by bracing acidity and tremendous resonance on the palate. — 23 days ago

Looks to be a bottle from the 80s mature rich and complex . Toffee , brioche, mushrooms kept in check by golden delicious apple fruit . This is a winner and it’s nice to have a grand cuvée with age since most of these get drunk way to young ! — 6 days ago
