Strawberry, floral on the nose, acid front but with fizzy strawberry finish. Crisp, nice summer garden rose. Very pretty pink color — a month ago

Trocken Pfalz Grauburgunder 2013

6 months with skins on the lees gives this wine its sherry-like colour and fantastic intensive flavour. Brioche, caramel and oak with more acid than 2012. Definately not for everyone but a very special wine — 4 years ago

Kallstadter Saumagen Riesling Spätlese Trocken 2016

@Delectable Wine this is the Saumagen Auslese trocken R.

Vibrant acidity and freshness. Maybe should have given this a few more years but it was still a lovely wine.

Kirschgarten Großes Gewächs Spätburgunder 2018

Dark & brooding, with great depth & purity of fruit and dark spices in the background. Sour cherries, dark sweet cherries, a whiff of huckleberry.
Tightly wound on the palate with fine, grippy, juicy tannins and brilliant cherry acidity. This has presence & focused complexity yet remains very elegant.
This is a stunning, profound wine.
(The fact you can get a small bottle for 9€ on board of a Lufthansa flight is today’s surprise of the century!)

That is a surprise! This is an absolute top Winery famous for Pinot no one knows in the US. And the cherriegarden - Kirschgarten is their top Vineyard. Haven’t been there in Ages. You are lucky - Kudos to Lufthansa too.

I live Knipser’s top wines, but find his Ortsweine a bit bland, chunky and lacking the depth of his GGs or the elegance of the Ahr or Kaiserstuhl.
His Kirschgarten from the great 2018 is sublime!

Chardonnay **** 2017

Love Knipser as a producer and they are in a group of german wine makers that simply dont make bad wines. Buttery and slighty oaky with persisting acidity...all round a very enjoyable Chardonnay — 3 months ago

Marsannier trocken 2016

A blend of Marsanne and Viogner. This was brilliant. Needed time and to warm up a bit but then came ripe fruits, honey and quince with woody notes from the barrel aging. For €27 this was truelly amazing! — 2 years ago

Trocken Chardonnay*** 2014

9.5

Sunday chill chardonnay *** from Knipser, Germany. They only make a couple of hundred bottles, once every few years when the vintage permits

Intense, bright golden color, the wine sticks to the inside of the glass.

Nose has citrus and orange peels, my son smelled autumn leaves.

Palate gives citrus fruit, white stones and a nice round mouthfeel and creamy texture.

Finsh is long and an extension of the palate.

95RP, fully agree
