Great Viognier from Virginia! — 8 years ago
The 2012 Kindred is 100% #azwines #azwinecountry in the house! This GSM (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre) blend is a collaboration between several vineyards/winemakers in AZ, 1 of which is @caduceuscellars. Each vineyard contributed barrels of particular varietal(s) the result is a light bodied red, Crimson hue, spicy black pepper. Smooth as all heck with equally smooth finish. The fruit is turned way done. You get hints of raspberries but nothing too dominate to qualify tho as a "fruity" wine. — 9 years ago

Sparkman Kindred Columbia Valley Grenache, 14.5% alc/vol. Ruby red, excellent clarity, light to moderate pigment extraction. Red fruit -strawberry, hint of raspberry- on nose, black currant, dark cherry, blackberry, barrel toast, caramel and licorice in the mouth, with a hint of mint on the finish. Mouthcoating seed tannins, light to moderate skin astringency. Good candy-like fruit with length but not all that acidic, so a good balance there. A nice find and a good sipper though I’m not sure how solid a standard it is for this varietal in Washington state as it’s quite a different expression of the varietal. Don’t care though; I still like it. Two hours after opening, some cola flavor emerges. — a year ago
