Ultreia Saint Jacques Mencía 2018

Love it!!!! Smokey bramble notes and charcuterie up front. Followed by plum, dusty earth, fig and cherry on the palate. Bright acidity and tannins balance out. 13.5%, amazing value. — 6 days ago

Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2015

On the simple side. Lean with a ton of acid. Second day didn’t move much if really at all. — 4 days ago

Domaine Jacques Carillon

Puligny-Montrachet Chardonnay 2015

See notes from 33 weeks ago. As I said in that note there is no point in further cellaring. Essentially fruit forward in this warm year. Stone fruit with minerality and a saline finish. Softening acidity but still lively enough. — 10 days ago

Papillon Champagne Brut Nature Pinot Noir

Many thanks to @Geoff Franz for import duties. Mousse that dissipated rather quickly, leaving an aromatic fireworks show of lemon zest, apple & brioche. High-toned brut nature really lovely champers — 25 days ago

Millésime Extra Brut Grand Cru Champagne Chardonnay 2009

Received a glass from a very generous friend. More than likely won’t encounter this one ever again. Glad I got try it—lovely oxidation; weighty and light on its feet simultaneously. Very young and can imagine this only getting better. — 3 days ago

Château des Jacques Moulin-à-Vent Gamay 2014

Gastronomic style. Pleasant appreciation of aging with toasted, spices. Almost oily mouth texture, ample style. Lacks a little freshness to hang the tasting.

Gorgeous, wafting nose. A why we drink Pinot type of nose. Stunning, deep red and black cherries. Hit of rocky minerals and some wet earth frame the cherries. Such a clean and elegant nose. Such clean and clear minerality. 17 is so classic. Palate is supple, lean and spicey with slate like tannins initially and sweet cherry fruit on the finish that stays with you. Lovely persistence. Terrific sour cherry as well that sweetens up as it finishes. Really terrific freshness and lift. Needs maybe 45 minutes for the fruit to really express itself. Compact and quite structured with really great energy. — 16 days ago

Brut Rosé Champagne Blend

2019 Disgorgement is in the zone with its ultra complex aromatic profile and chiseled palate with riveting energy and a seamlessly balanced expression of layered red berry fruit and chalky minerality. VO base with a touch of still Pinot from Francis Egly. Always a treat ❤️ — 9 days ago

Les Narbantons Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2015

Exuberant and ebullient ripe late season cherries on the nose. Smells like 15. Also lovey earth and mineral character. Palate is super ripe and rich with layers of sweet red cherry fruit and wonderful freshness. Girard nailed 15. Concentrated and deep. It doesn’t quite have the focus of 14:17:19 but it’s one of the better 15’s I’ve had. Long finish. Very fleshy . — 2 days ago
