Clos Grangeneuve Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2020

Paired with steak au poivre. Some sediment even after decanting. Wine is pepper and tobacco on the nose (no that wasn't the steak). Picked up some blackberry jam and chocolate and coffee on the nose after it opened up. Taste was jammy and peppery with a strong tannin bite. Thought it got more deep and complex as it sat. Paired really well, would drink again, wife didn't mind it despite not being a Merlot fan. — 3 months ago

Huge fan of Dreyer, this took about an hour to settle down and shake off a bitterness. — 2 years ago

Special Club Brut Champagne Blend 2017

A distinct sparkling golden hue in the glass with highly active bubbles. The nose is mature and instantly pleasant. Apple aromas aplenty. Nice citrus notes with a bit of umami. Brioche and grapefruit.

Special Club champagnes are just special. This is no exception. A classically styled champagne in all aspects, equal parts baronial and fun. Well balanced with a low dosage and slightly zippy acidity. Honey and butter on the tongue with yellow fruits. More and more apples with a dash of dried herbs. Still has many more years to go before it hits its prime.

Brut Champagne Blend Rosé

Lovely aperitif, pairs well with cheese and fruit, best served very chilled to help balance the acidity. — 7 months ago

Elios Vins d'Alsace Pinot Noir 2020

Tasted blind. My guesses were around Fedellos do Couto and Matassa, but with influence from Sextant. Entry-level funky-style wine. Slightly restrained and simple in the nose with notes of sweet cherry, cranberry and spoiled jam. But it pays well in the taste. Fizzy at the beginning, salty with flavours of spoiled strawberry-cranberry jam but with the right volume and evolution based on jamminess. I would take it on a picnic, chill a little bit, and then chill together with a bottle or two of this wine. — 2 years ago

Prologue Extra Brut Verzenay Grand Cru Pinot Noir Chardonnay

(Disgorgement date 11/04/22). Very dry, but great depth and complexity, served with a French triple cream cheese, but would be better with food in place of a Chablis or Sancerre. — 5 months ago

Argitis Vins d'Alsace Riesling 2021

A bit mouse-y, did not taste or smell like Riesling. Still, I enjoyed this, but Dreyer is testing my patience. — 5 months ago
