Chappellet

Mountain Cuvée Proprietor's Blend 2018

Blend of Cab Sauv, Cab Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot & Malbec, made by 30 year Chappellet winemaker Phillip Titus. Deep Ruby, purple edges, youthful aromas of black fruit, spices, floral and flinty notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry and black cherry with some vanilla and tobacco and herbal notes. Vivid acidity & firm tight tannins with long finish ending with a youthful character, a bit young, should benefit from bottle aging. — 8 days ago

Pax Mahle Wines

Buddha's Dharma Mendocino County Chenin Blanc

I love the tension and purity in this wine. Great citrus and orchard fruit, enveloping texture. Long acid-driven finish. Quite Loire-esque. Great value for beautifully made CA Chenin. — 19 hours ago

Robledo Family Winery

El Rey Red Hills Lake County Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish/ brick rim.

Fruity on the nose with blackberries, blackcurrants, black plums, chocolates, vanilla, spices, oak, licorice, black pepper, tobacco and light alcohol.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, light earth, tobacco, chocolates, light vegetables, mocha, coffee and peppercorn.

Long tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.

This is a very nice Cabernet Sauvignon from California. Showing nice complexity with a great mouthfeel.

Good right out of the bottle, and better as it opens up. I gave it one hour, initially. After 90 minutes more earth notes come in, both on the nose and palate. Rich, soft, smooth and spicy.

Good by itself or with food. Will pair very nicely with grilled meats or a Burger. I paired it with cheeses and crackers.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

$45.

The Princess & The Peasant Mendocino County Carignan

Love the varietal just not sure about this wine is the penultimate expression. Takes some time to open up but once flowered it’s nice. A bit fruity but not overly so which is a plus for me. Smooth with a nice finish. — 14 days ago

Luchsinger Vineyard Charbono 2019

Young, no new oak, carbonic charbono. Medium bodied, best aired and chilled. Exotic blueberries, dried black cherries, bitter chocolate. Tart candied. Bursting with flavor. Would be great and interesting aged. — 16 days ago

Terre de Feu Lake County Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Mellow blackberries and raspberries, along with a musty, earthy smell on the nose and palate. Not a very old Cab Sauv but tannins that we’re softer, not yet a full velvet but close. — 6 days ago
