Templeton Gap District Mourvèdre-Syrah Blend

Dark inky in color with a short purple rim.

Big nose of over ripe blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, raisins, dried fruits, cedar, vanilla, spices, espresso, cola, light alcohol, vinaigrette, graphite, bonfire smoke and peppercorn.

Full bodied, big and bold, with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and extremely fruity on the palate with prunes, blackberries, black currants, sweet cherries, raisins, vanilla, cedar, licorice, cloves, tobacco, cola, chocolates, mocha, coffee, peppercorn, pencil lead and light vegetables.

Long finish with fine tannins and cherries.

This is a delicious Syrah blend from Paso Robles. Fruit forward with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel. A great sipping wine.

Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up (30 minutes).

Still young and needs another few years in the bottle to mature and calm down. Might be too fruity for some.

I paired it with cheeses, dried fruits and light appetizers.

A blend of 50% Mourvedre and 50% Syrah. Aged separately for 26 months in 85% New French Oak barrels.

15% alcohol by volume.

93 points.

$65.

Paso Robles Rosé Blend 2016

Joint project between Austin Hope and Chef Tim Love. Love the nose which is very Paso, and a well made wine. Suspect the age has helped. — a month ago

Hope Marguerite Chenin Blanc 2017

A stand out from this winery. I think the location added some terroir not found in their other Chenin or their reds. Felt like drinking a summer evening. — 4 days ago

Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Always loved Paso Robles cabs; and Austin has surely delivered! Very dark ruby color, deep bold fruity opening which the region known for.. smooth long oak and green leaves.. almost velvety.. Love it; first time tasting and immediate fan; will stock up.
P.S. Will age well.

Réserve Vin de Pays de Vaucluse White Rhone Blend 2010

Straight from the cellar, 17C. Candied fruits, glycerin, a little too much alcohol presence in this bottle. Could diminish after cooling, let's hope. — 15 days ago

Songs from Mars Barossa Valley Grenache

Who knew Matthew Rorick made a wine down under?! A rare creature indeed. Rich, dusty Grenache fruit with a touch of grip. Warning, lots of wines from our trip to Australia and NZ to follow — 24 days ago
