High elevation pinot noir. Blackberries, wild strawberries, boysenberry, almost like smelling a berry soda without sweetness, there’s also bramble, flower perfume, leather on the nose. It’s crazy to smell. Palate is berries, more acidity, more leather and game, but a lot of berries and greenery. Definite alpine style. Really enjoyable. — 4 years ago

Savory, brambly, rose that deserves your attention. Closer to a light red than a rose. I’d drink it chilled, but not too cold. — 6 years ago
Fun. Different. Yeah that’s all I got. — 7 years ago
@Delectable Wine this is atavus VII (7). If I tasted this blind I would say Austria or Slovenia or Georgia etc. wine for sure. Jasmine tea, jasmine flowers, lemon, comforting herbs, grapefruit, really fancy sea salt, so many flowers! Top us orange wine. — a year ago

Not quite as good as I remember this the last time I had it. There was more of a smoky element that wasn’t there before and it seemed that the fruit wasn’t quite as bright. Still, this was a very nice wine and wish I had more of it. — 6 years ago

Oxidative nose. Beautiful apricot orange hue. Slightly vinegar-y. Thin textured. Really excellent. — 4 years ago
Big storm and power just went out at 3 in the afternoon. Breaks my heart to put work aside and open this!
Almost have it 93. The nose is great. Violets, strawberry, and burnt orange peel. Palate is fun too. Slightly reductive, cherry, strawberry, salinity, and minerality.
I purchased this at North Loop Wine / Spirits in Minneapolis. Check out this shop if you haven’t/can. Great selection! Very helpful staff as well. I asked for the best Pinot under $60 and he passed quite a few easy names to give me this. So glad he did! They have a great selection of high end stuff, maybe best in MN? Bought from Hutu Wine Farm in Hood River. Amazing cider! — 6 years ago
Super smoky in the nose and the tongue. Nice acidity. Cherry and red fruit notes with some vegetable and oregano. A very interesting wine that drinks like heavily smoke ribs. Like licking yesterday’s campfire. The most distinct, complex wine I’ve had this year. Not a daily drinker, but light enough in body and alcohol that all the smokiness still has a lighter finesse. — 6 years ago

Interestingly it was almost impossible for me to tell the difference between the 2019 and 2021. So much lovely crunchy fruit. Great wines. — 6 months ago
