Nose: cherry y flower and white flower. Pink roses. So elegant. So fleeting. So old school. Sweet pink roses as this opens.
Palate: so old school. Silky. Ephemeral early season cherries. Sweet but in a very silly and not obvious way.
Herve you rot was quite a winemaker. What a fucking waste.

An amazing old world rustic wine. Black & blue fruits with pepper, and smoke. Chewy prominent tannins. Rain put a damper on the grilling tonight but this paired very well with pizza too Haha — 7 years ago

light bodied gamay with notes of vanilla, strawberry, cherry. although it has some tannins and acid, a velvety rush still persists that cuts through the fat of the pork cheek in day old carbonara — 2 years ago
Med/light red, slight funk, pepper, juice, delicious — 5 years ago
A touch minerally with citrus blend to follow — 6 years ago
Really great and different from previous vintages; slightly effervescent and has some nice savory funk to compliment all the fruit. — 7 years ago
Benchmark gamay. Dark fruit and graphite, plenty wild. — 7 years ago
Classic Northern Rhône (more specifically Saint Joseph)-like nose. Oodles of crushed granite dust, very spicy blackberry-skin fruit, and you can actually sense the acidity on the nose. Almost a Loire-like freshness in the mouth, though it’s plainly Syrah. Savory, minerally, very pure and with mouth-watering acidity, which makes sense at only 12% alcohol. Basically duels Herve Souhaut to a draw at Herve’s own game. — 8 years ago

Strawberry and plum. Deep fruity.Roses. Raspberry jam. Still acidic, but juicy. Wait for 2 year. Slight tannic. Herve Charlopin, Marsannay clos du roy 22 @, Gdrop, 240906 — 2 years ago
The differences between good and very good Chablis lie in the nuances. In this Premiere Cru from Herve Azo, we get lots to drool over - transitions from smell into texture into flavor. Crisp, clean, flinty yeasty lemons triple lutz into fully lush lemon cream. Coats the tongue like robes of sweet tropical fruit fondit.
And all this for about $30 — 5 years ago
Sweet but balanced, lots of flavor, I’m getting honeydew. Wonderfully smooth. — 6 years ago
Another gem from Herve Souhaut. Limited production on this Ganay from the Rhone region not know for Gamay. 60-80 yo vines. Very different from what im used to in Gamay. Was still very fruity but also had peppery smoky notes and maybe even some herbs. Dark fruit for sure. Loved it. — 6 years ago
Never tried this grape before. Merits more drinking. — 8 years ago
