Perfectly balanced, no browning on the edges, long finish — 18 days ago
It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.
Strong nose of black currants, blackberries, cedar, spices, vanilla, chocolates, light alcohol, herbs and peppercorn.
Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, spices, cedar, licorice, light vanilla, chocolates, coffee, herbs and peppercorn.
Long spicy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Rich and fruit forward. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Elegant, smooth and spicy.
This 8 year old Cabernet Sauvignon is starting to drink nicely now, but still young and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years and see how it evolves.
Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime. Good by itself or with food.
A blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot. Aged in (80% new) French Oak barrels for 22 months. 900 cases produced.
14.7% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

If you like Ca Chardonnay with firm wood-warmer climate backbone structure, this probably isn’t for you. It is closer to white burgundy, which is why I buy it occasionally. It reminds me of the a leaner, less viscous, 2014/16 Domaine de la Bongran Viré-Clessé Cuvée E.J. Thevenet.
The palate is perfectly ripe; green apple, lemon/lime juicy pulp w/ zest, grapefruit with pith, tropical melon, white stone fruit, marmalade as it warms & opens up, Bosc pear w/ skin & lychees. Honey notes, but less than Viré-Clessé Cuvée E.J. Thevenet, caramel, milk froth, vanillin, dry limestone powered, toast crust, some white spice, grey volcanics, saline notes, yellow lilies, white flowers, jasmine blossoms, mixed in greens, very pleasant acidity, well; knitted, balanced, good tension, medium structure and a smarty polished 90 second finish that settles on spice and minerals. — 20 days ago
A California Cote Rotie. Dusty pepper over blue flour. No heat whatsoever. At peak. — 12 days ago
Special name, special occasion. Love ‘12 CA Cabs and this one especially. Surreal power for age 14. Still dense fruit, good balance but still more tilt and less finesse. Maybe better in 3-5 years but shows the heft of a well made Napa Cab. — a month ago
Fruity beginning that opens up to a peppery finish. Very smooth. A bit over priced at $109. Didn’t see the complexity at that price point. — a month ago
Hello from bitter cold MN. Woke up this morning to -23 degree temps and it was garbage day…. 🥶
Continuing my month of drinking 2016 wines. Almost opened Pape Clement tonight. Thoughts on if that’s too soon anyone? Smash or pass?
This is drinking very well. Has that Corison thing with great tension of fruit and acidity. Mouthwatering.
Cheers all. 🍷 stay warm and safe this weekend. — 2 months ago

This unfortunately didn’t blow us away. Gave it an hour or two in the decanter. Well made but lacked the punch I expected. — 2 months ago
