Agree w previous tasting notes from @Peter Sultan — once it opened the tannins were round and it was a nice glass. Great value at the price. — 5 years ago

100% Cab Sav. A touch of Bret on the nose, not too heavy. — 11 years ago
Nice, very drinkable reisling. Touch a sweetness from the great western fruit. — 11 years ago
had a similar experience as @Peter Sultan as far as finding this was a quixotic blend of Old World and New World - nose & palate was not at all reticent for us: there was such a purity of flavors & aromas from deep rich black fruit, cassis, minerals, meat, pepper... so legit - not a hair out of place, — 3 months ago

The OG of orange, the sultan of skin contact...the ayatollah of Ribolla. (Too much?) The most beautiful tobacco sunburst color. Defies easy description, almost disconcertingly fresh and alive, charming and inviting (read: not aggressively oxidative) but worthy of contemplation. Called to mind not only flavors of toasted nuts, dried apricots, orange peel, cinnamon, nutmeg and caramel but things that aren’t even food, like amber and mahogany and musty cellars. Mind bending. — 8 years ago
Very soft and rounded, delicate fruit and oak. — 11 years ago
MACO-SWAB This talented duo deserve accolades for their contribution to wine. Few have heard of Pouilly-Loché, an appellation in the Mâcon where Céline and Laurent Tripoz cultivate eleven hectares. An aromatic harem that is bursting with luscious red berries. A Pinot Noir that will age beautifully over the next 5-7 years. Valeur Exceptionnelle. -DM — 12 years ago
@Peter Sultan I loved this too and agree about complexity but it was captivating! Theoretical mix of sherry, vin santo - tawny aromatics but a freshness to its oxidative qualities… sweet yet not cloying - absolutely alluring — 3 years ago

Opened another recently, legendary wine, said that in the 18th century was introduced to Sultan of Constantinople's palace b/c of its clarity and called "mineral water from Carbonnieux", defying Islamic law. Pale lemon with pronounce aromas of tropical and stone fruits with herb notes. On the palate flavors of melon, mango, apple, green herbs and a crisp mineral edge. Medium+ length, balanced acidity, ending with a fruit, citrus mineral character. Nice, aging well. — 5 years ago
100% Riesling vintage. Very well balanced, but touch of stone fruit. Bit of oak makes it stands out. — 9 years ago
100% mouderve. Oxidised, Provence style. — 11 years ago
Needs a bit of air to open up but when it does this smells like the colour purple, purple silk. Yep, that's what I said. There's also fresh out the oven blueberry muffin with a dusting of icing sugar. I'm pretty sure there's some toasted hot-cross bun action going on in there somewhere. Perfumed, purple fruit, very attractive. Bit more straightforward taste wise with tight knit tannins and a sold, fresh blackcurrant & plum finish — 11 years ago
