This is my first experience with this grape and this wine. I was given this wine by a close friend, the 1994 Ca' Togni Sweet Red Wine Philip Togni Vineyard Spring Mountain St. Helena, California. The grape is the Muskat Trollinger Muscat Hamburg.

On the nose there is licorice, leather, coffee and dark earth.

On the palate is licorice, buttery nutty carmel, concentrated dried dark fruits and butterscotch.

This wine is medium to full bodied and has port feel and qualities, sweet very viscous medium acidity and tannins seem to be fully resolved that moves deliciously into a long sweet savory nutty finish. Continued great weekend to everyone, stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 2 years ago

slight raisin on nose and high alcohol. slightly bitter finish doesn't detract. good with hamburg steaks and rich sauce. Nice that all tannins fell away to show ripe red fruit — 5 years ago

Überquell Bambule.Pilsener. Hurricane white head walls. Quick dissipation. Fine to moderate mousse. Cosmos residue. Fireworks lacing shimmery-fizzling in oily skies. Gum eraser, pencil eraser, cinnamon oil sensorily, chives, ; all two dimensional. Lemon pound cake meets lemon marmalade on toast, but cellophane-thin. Cinnamon apple perhaps? Digest this within the aspect/scope of a Pilsner and you are following. Lemon and tangerine entertain scant traces of grapefruit, wheat germ, and lemon-raisin bread. Onion flakes that rain hop dust. The unctuous quality of this beer gives it a textural might! Puts some fleisch on those bones.

Amazing field blend of red and white varieties - Alicante Bouschet and Trincadeira alongside Nunes, Hamburg, Leona, Alessandria and Petit-grains- from Ribeira da Nisa, an 85 year-old vineyard on primarily granite soils near Portalegre in the Alentejo. 2021/9/18-19 with Hamburg steak, pork and bitter melon keema, etc. This starts with more blue, leafy fruit than the 2016, but after a day, redder, more luscious fruit emerges. — 3 years ago

The original Pilsener from my home town. Everyone in Hamburg rates it at least 90 points and everyone else rates in no higher than 80 points. 🤣 iconic, smooth, and mild. And in quarantine on St Patrick’s, it’s ok to have a German Pilsener. — 4 years ago
