Haddow And Dineen

Savage Grace

Dineen Vineyard Côt 2020

New vintage, yummy blackberries and, er, tobacco. Becoming a favorite. After 30 minutes, a healthy dose of fine-grained skin astringency emerges. Tangy or slightly tart on finish, with plenty of mouth-coating skin tannins. Worth decanting a couple of hours — 10 days ago

Heritage Red Blend 2013

Really likes this blend when we tasted it at the vineyard. Was a killer deal when we bought a bottle to drink with the amazing wood fired pizza they were serving on the weekends last summer. Got a nice funk to the nose, still lots of nice fruit for the vintage. Lovely for the price. — 6 years ago

Mirage Dineen Vineyard Merlot 2014

Lovely merlot without being too fruit forward. Higher acid with clean berries. — 7 years ago

Isenhower Cellars

Road Less Traveled Cabernet Franc 2018

Columbia Valley, 413 cases produced. Aging is about right, flavors of cola and spearmint with a mildly tannic finish, alongside some blackberry, raspberry and cherry. 30% new French oak is apparent in nose and mouth and just in balance, with decent acid and just a lingering aftertaste of white pepper. Grapes from Wallula and Dineen Vineyards, 51/49 split. — 7 months ago

Boushey Vineyard Côt 2017

Dineen Vineyard, Rattlesnake Hills. This is a lighter style of Malbec fermented with native yeast, whole clusters. 11.2% alc/vol. Purple, moderately extracted pigment, very good clarity. Butter, tobacco and red fruit aromas initially. Raspberry and black currant flavors with length and a bit of cherry, moderate seed bitterness and skin astringency. Needs time to open. Acidity is light, almost rounded mouthfeel, fruit with length, but you need to give those tannins about 30 minutes minimum to dampen down. The carbonic maceration character comes out after 45 minutes, creating a mild Kool-Aid effect on some of the fruit flavors. (The effect is much nicer and more natural, of course, than those artificial flavors in Kool-Aid). A nice red for any occasion except a steak, in which case go for a full power Malbec. — 5 years ago

Ahh! Dineen Vineyard Syrah 2014

Cassis and blackberry with pepper. Thinner than expected with rich fruit. — 7 years ago

Savage Grace

Dineen Vineyard Pét-Nat Côt 2021

Crisp, bubbly, finish that’s varietal in character: some tobacco, red fruit, medium tannins. Fun summer wine but serious flavor profile. Somewhat experimental, so if you see a bottle, give it a try as they may not make it in the future. — 2 years ago

Yakima Valley Cabernet Franc 2016

Lovely Cab Franc from Dineen Vinyards. Glad we opened it now, it was really climbing the cork. Nice and smooth with hints of spice and cocoa. Went well with food. — 5 years ago

Fronk Dineen Vineyard Cabernet Franc 2014

David's Folly because the winemaker and his friends call each other David. His name is Tim. His friends have other names. Odd.

Cab and CF. Lovely rounded and high toned. Challenging being at a custom crush. Exciting future especially when they get their own space.
