Drank after a Boon Geueze (which I enjoyed) and it was far better, more refined and delectable. — 4 years ago

‘18 A&G. Waves of oak, florals, funk and citrus, mild acidity. Delicately composed. 6.5%. Outstanding Gueuze. — 4 years ago

The most gueuze-like beer I’ve experienced. Lemon/limey, oaky, dry, slightly nutty. Crisp and easy drinking. — 3 years ago
Nose has sour apricots grated against musty old cellar barrels, fully saturated oak staves, bushel of ripe peaches, burnt caramel and brackish water.
Palate is fully loaded with citrus peel, grapefruit pith, peach peel, sour oak chips and tart apple cider.
What a performance today, just outstanding, amazing color, really improved with a couple more years of hiding.

Happy belated Zwanze Day! Celebrating with this 2017 bottling of Cantillon’s Classic Gueuze. Over the years, I have drifted to be a little more fond of 3 Fonteinen but I’m really splitting hairs. This is world class.
Popped and poured; crushed in 30min after doing the first yard work of 2024 and getting the hops trained to the trellis. The gueuze pours a brilliant golden color with a persistent head. On the nose, mostly tasty stone fruits: apricots, peach, kumquat, horse blanket, stony minerals. On the palate, the gueuze is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and refreshing. Drink now. — 2 days ago
