Monthly WTF group recap. Theme this month was “bring something special”. Normally we taste all of the wines blind, but we decided to do a relaxed night with amazing wines at a great restaurant. Spectacular evening!
I had the ‘15 a few months back and this seems much more fresh! Just a killer example of gruner. Classic. Smells of white pepper and a freshly opened can of green beans (weird, I know). There is even a creamy nature to this on the palate. Hay, chalk, limestone and bright stone fruits. Wonderful. Thanks @Jeff Meyer . — 6 days ago
Green apple, lime juice, crushed stone, I ripe pear, green tones. Good pairing with oysters. — 4 days ago
Rounder, quieter than the others but more depth than the Geyerhof — 2 days ago
Really went well with a variety of fish dishes and not a bad offering on a wine menu not known for its wine. This one had very bright acidity but more weight than I would have guessed. Nose of peaches and white flowers. Entry is more peach. Some limestone. Seemed to be a hint of grapefruit on the finish but could have been more the acidity playing with me. Better a little closer to room temp. — 24 days ago
Intense - herbal and salty but also with a more buttery, creamy texture — 2 days ago
Good, if a bit simple. On the nose, lemons and wet rocks. In the mouth, bright citrus, white pepper and acidity. Decent length. Decent QPR. — 6 days ago
Really nice warm weather wine, in particular. A “ buy again” wine! — a day ago
