Glenfarclas

9 Years Old Dramfool “Glenmarvellous” Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whiskey

I like the nose. Light on the wood, more on honey, rich but not sweet. The palate runs hot to me, like really hot and spicy. All on the back/mid of the tongue and it lingers. So the finish goes for a while. Interesting but not a great dram imho — a month ago

This just gets better as it opens but also liked it more in isolation. When you are tasting a lot of scotches this one starts to get lost. It’s gentle, subtle, smooth. You can’t I would argue flipping between 5 other strong profile drinks. — 5 years ago

Yeah. Best I could do at a reasonable price point. GF 40 is still my all time favorite. Cheers, @Paul T- Huntington Beach

Port Askaig

45 YEAR OLD Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 2015

I took this to celebrate son’s birthday. This is a killer Scotch imho but I’m still calling the Glenfarclas 40 better but this has a 45 sec finish easy. It’s just a bit more wood and more astringent than Glenfarclas which is why that gets the edge. — 2 years ago
