Another excellent vintage of this Barbaresco favorite. Light ruby color with garnet highlights. Aromas of red fruit, rose petals, orange zest and toasted wood. Delicate flavors of sour red and black cherries, sweet baking spices and red and black licorice. Lengthy finish, gentle (but tight) tannins and plus/tangy acidity. It's maybe the best wine of this year's Tuscan adventure of ours. Found in a new wine bar in Florence (opened a few days ago). 100% of merlot. High and pleasant acidity, a dark fruit (blackberry and plum), tobacco, leather. Needs time to open up but it's worth waiting. — a year ago
