Fun wine & a great combo when put up against Chinese dim sum. Cloudy and orange in the glass, this wine automatically shows you there is a wild trip ahead. The nose is Gewurtztraminer dominant and boozy (I believe this wine comes in at 14.5% abv). Heaps of honeysuckle, orange blossom, mead, orange marmalade, and ripe nectarine. Getting my Gewurtztraminer fix from Ginglinger-Fix. Classic funky, dank, lychee nut, deep floral nose. Lighter and more precise in the mouth than the nose suggests. Off-dry. Clean, long finish with some nice minerally notes and decent acids. Fantastic value at $15. — 9 years ago

A Riesling, Pinot Noir, Gewurtztraminer blend that's about concentration and complexity. Showing a nutty, quince, orange marmelade side where sweet spices surface. Perhaps slightly oxidized, it has a full-bodied, creamy brightness that for me, begs another sip. (Rumor has it the heat retaining gravel soils result in this type of wine.) Bravo. — 9 years ago
