Gaston Hochar Pere et fils 2013

The 2013 isn’t ready yet (mid-2021) but it will be a beaut.

Classic cedar and spice alongside well worn leather and dried currants and soft English tobacco. This is grandfather’s old armchair in a bottle.

Château de la Gardine

Cuvée des Generations Gaston Philippe Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2016

On to something interesting,
Jeb & Vinous 95

K&L notes, The flagship wine from Gardine, the Gaston-Philippe is named for Gaston and Philippe Brunel. The wine is equal parts Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre aged in new barrique. Composed of the oldest vines from the estate, they range between 60-90+ years of age. A benchmark wine from a benchmark producer!

Fronsac Red Bordeaux Blend 2011

A relatively light red fuits frame for a Fronsac. Mineral and fresh. Some anise and menthol hints. Nice and balanced, but far from being memorable. — 5 months ago
