Château Musar

Gaston Hochar Grand Cru Red Blend 2016

Agree with other commentators, pearls were clutched when our host opened this but it was surprisingly accessible young, and unsurprisingly delicious and full of character — 10 days ago

Gaston Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Big all-around smooth tannins, good balance, licorice, fennel (flavor), ripe plum, black fruit, dark chocolate. Powerful. Long finish. Really enjoyed much more second day and in 65-68 temp. — 25 days ago

Château de la Gardine

Cuvée des Generations Gaston Philippe Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2012

A legacy CdP from the collection. Haven’t had in many years - with the age it’s certainly nice. Though, quite full bodied and somehow still somewhat austere, and with not enough acid to really keep it all refined. Nice enough with skirt steak on the grill. — 2 months ago

First Rioja white of the year. Impressive. Lots of white peaches and a string mineral base. Nutty finish. — 6 months ago

Maritana Vineyards

La Rivière Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2020

Light gold in color with a green hue.

Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate and nicely balanced.

Showing yellow and red apples, ripe pears, lemons, spices, oak, almonds, sea salt and black pepper.

Long finish with almonds and limes.

This 4 year old Russian River Valley Chardonnay, is drinking beautifully now. Buttery and rich. Fruit forward with nice complexity and mouthfeel.

Peaking now and will continue to drink nicely in the next 3 to 5 years.

Easy drinking right out of the bottle, and better after 20 minutes of airtime. I had the 2018 not too long ago and loved it as well.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, and better when not too cold.

14% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

Bourgogne Chardonnay 2017

A notch better than I expected. The age has been good, as is some time with air in the glass. Pretty classic non-Chablis entry level white burg, in a nice way. Great acid core with good body and mouthfeel. — 7 months ago
