We really enjoyed this one. Eleven years after the vintage, and we paired it with our Easter dinner which was really a varied feast of steaks, ham, veggies, and roast potatoes. Red and dark fruit here with a flintiness present. Nice depth here. A beautiful pairing with our marbled steak. Great memories trying these wines for the first time at the Vancouver International Wine Festival a few years back. — 4 years ago

2011 vintage. 100 percent Cab from the Gallipoli Peninsula (Turkish Thrace). From Jay. Dark ruby colour. Cedar, oiled saddle leather, and blackberry on the nose. Fruit forward on the palate. Reasonable mid palate. Fair degree of layering. Silky on the tongue. Tannins are well integrated but soft...a regular theme with many of the Turkish reds I have tried on this trip. Finish is concerted with surprising length. Very approachable now. Will benefit from a couple more years of bottle age but drink before 2020. 89/100

2011 vintage Suvla Roussanne Marsanne - Turkish white wine from Gallipoli Peninsula (Turkish Thrace). From Jay. Lemon skin oil with hints of freshly cut pear. There's a little zip on the nose...very pleasant. Very rich on the palate. Good complexity and balance. Well layered with lovely length and an elegant finish. Impressive wine with rich glyercine levels. Gains complexity as it opens in the glass. Best white of the trip. Drink now to 2018. 90/100 — 9 years ago

Medium ruby in color; blackberries, graphite, and cherries on the nose; high acidity; medium tannins; tastes like plums, cardamom, and wet slate with a long finish. Nellie and I like it. — 2 months ago
