Franz Haas

Legras & Haas

Brut Champagne Rosé Blend

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The NV Brut Rosé pours an attractive, pale pink with persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of strawberry, raspberry, apple, lemon, lightly toasted brioche and minerals. On the palate the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+; round and balanced. I could easily drink the shit out of this. Drink now. Base harvest is 2020. Disgorged January 2023. — 6 days ago

Legras & Haas

Brut Blanc de Blancs de Chouilly Chardonnay

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. No formal notes. This is my first experience with the Champagnes of Legras & Haas and I found this quite easy to enjoy. In this instance, it played the role of aperitif and it did very well. It was light on its toes and shoes nice balance of fruit, acid and minerals. Base vintage is 2017…which might have something to do with it coming across a touch lean? Looking forward to trying again. Drink now. Disgorged April of 2022. — a year ago
